Ride report and Project APE update 1-11-09
Well with scheduled temps in the upper 60’s in the Bay Area a few local mini guys suggested a East Bay mini ride covering a good 75 mile stretch of back canyon twisties. Greg and I met at his place in Castro Valley and had fun doing the stop light to stop light drag races on down to Fremont were we were meeting the rest of the group. In total a group of 7 riders showed up. Two CRB150’s, two RS50’s, Gregs 146+R ZB, Me on the APE, and Jokerio on his KSR80 two stroke land missile.
Here is a one way shot of the route we took. Map link
Out side of getting stuck be hind the same pack of slow moving full size bikes twice it was a spectacular day. Couldn’t ask for much better conditions in January. The new rear setup for the APE along with some OVER rearsets fixed the peg dragging issues I was having and really opened up the cornering possibilities. I really love the look of the OVER wheel and I cant wait to get the matching front one on. The new front setup didn’t make the ride cause we are still working out the sping issues with the stock KSR forks. The new forks are coming along though and I expect they will be on the bike for the next ride.
Enojoy the pictures, and here are two youtube links. the first is from my point and shoot attached to the handlebars the second is from Gregs helmet cam.
